Ways to Care for Your Winter Coat

Chances are your wool coat is going to take a beating throughout some of the coldest months of the year.  After all, a good wool coat is a staple piece of any Fall or Winter uniform and likely serves as the last but most important piece that you grab before heading out the door.  Here are a couple of ways to make sure that your Madelyn Coat stays as good as new:
.
1.  Take everything out of the pockets before you hang it up.  This sounds strange but hear me out.  The two roomy front pockets on the Madelyn Coat are what make it so appealing, they can hold anything and everything from your keys, wallet, phone, dog treats, etc.  Hanging your coat up overnight with full pockets can weigh them down, causing them to slowly lose their shape.
.
2. On that note, hang it on a nice, wood hanger.  If you have thin plastic or metal hangers, save those for some of your lighter tops.  The weight of wool should be supported by a thicker hanger, especially once it goes to the back of your closet during those Summer months.
.
3. Give it a lil brushing.  Sometimes wool can start to pill in high friction areas.  To get rid of it, lightly brush the area and gently clip away the excess.
.
4.  Clean it before you put it away.  I know, taking things to the dry cleaner is a total pain.  But you're probably going to be bummed when you reach for your coat at the first sign of next Fall and see a dirty coat.  Get it over with now and have it ready for action when you need it!
