Years ago, before I knew better about where my clothes came from, I was a sales associate at H&M and Black Friday was always insane and dreadful. To prepare we had to put red signs on all of the "deals" in the store even though we were only just announcing the regular price of an item in a brighter color. Put a red sign on it, people will most likely buy it just because. I know that your instagram feed and inbox is completely flooded with "buy this!" and "shop now!" and it can be completely overwhelming. But, I so hope that when you start your seasonal shopping that you'll consider shopping small. When you shop small, you're buying into someones hopes and dreams. You're buying something where every element that went into making it was carefully considered and planned. Unlike retail giants like H&M, you're investing into something honest, genuine, and unique. I've listed some fellow makers doing some amazing things below that I'm planning to support this holiday season. Take a look, take a breather, and check out their amazing goods. Read their "about me" page and connect with the person who makes the things you love. Not only will you be supporting a small business but you'll come away with a deeper connection to the things you fill your life with.
